Yao-lin tagged me for the 3 Things that are new with you.

1. I spend every possible waking moment I am around the Tall Man begging him to play with me. He has started to really enjoy playing with me and every night he plays with a wand toy with me and the Whirly-Bird with Latte. This has made me really really talkative and loving of my Tall Man. Once he gets up from the couch for any purpose I assume he's playing with me and scream at the toy closet.

2. The Tall Man is tempting me with wrappers. He thinks its funny to tempt me with things he knows I want but I am Not Allowed to have. Its really not very nice of him as my heart starts racing when I see a wrapper that I know would crinkle so nicely in my mouth and with a little bat of my paw.

3. My Lap Lady stepped on my tail and pulled a tuft of black fur out! I was sooooo upset with her I wouldn't let her catch me to apologize. I know it was an accident but it was a large tuft of fur! And my tail is small!

Thursday Thirteen #49 Thanksgiving!

Thirteen Things I would put in my Box of Life (Miss Peach's meme that Dragonheart tagged me for).

1. First of all I would need the love and protection of my Lap Lady. I depend on her completely and I need her with me to take care of me.

2. I would want Latte of course because he's such a wonderful brother and a great snuggler. We get along so well you wouldn't know that we aren't from the same litter or even the same breed of cat!

3. My grass wand toy. This thing just keeps my leaping and happy no matter what.

4. My breeder's love and the love of my family of Moncoeur's cats. I carry their love and spirit throughout every day. My breeder's love for Orientals and spirit to breed made me who I am.

5. My heat box. I am pretty sure the Tall Man designed this just for me so I could be warm in the winter. I love it.

6. Our Millie Bed from Siamese Rescue. We have had it since Latte was a kitten so before I was ever born! It holds up so well and is perfectly positioned in front of the blowy heat thing in the living room.

7. The perfect snuggle spot that the LL gives me every night in the big bed. She knows I like her left side and I like to curl up in her arms under the blankets but with my nose able to poke out. She won't move all night so I stay comfy.

8. The love of my blogging friends. I truly don't know where I'd be without all of you! You make me so happy and feel so loved even when I'm down or askeered.

9. My boyfriend cat Mao. He can be a bit cranky but he's a softie at heart. I know he'd always be there for me if I needed anything.

10. The Whirly-bird which brings us all together as a family. Latte and I play with it while Chase watches. The Tall Man swings the bird and the LL either watches or takes pictures. I love family time.

11. Trash. I can't help myself, there are so many treasures in the form of q-tips, tags, bits of plastic and paper.

12. UPS & the Postal Service. Haha, I know this is silly but they always get our packages to our friends safe and sound either in this country or abroad. Plus they deliver stuff to our house.

13. I'd have to throw in some serious purrs and meezes because I'm just all about them! I'm one loud little girl kitty and it wouldn't be my box of life without them.

Name Meme & Tummy Tuesday

Do you see what my humans do to torture me? I mean really, a dowel on my belly? How was that going to be comfy for me? Sure I was purring because I was getting touched and attention but how did the TM expect me to stay like that? He's crazy. Crazy fun though!!


HRH Yao-lin wants to know where I got my name. Well, Moncoeur is the name of my cattery. I was called Thing 2 with my brother who was Thing 1 at my breeder's house. We hung around a bit longer than most when our first home had an accident and they couldn't take us. I was supposed to go with my brother who I adored but the LL and TM could only do one other cat but Thing 1 really charmed the TM and he did consider him....

The LL thought about my name ahead of meeting me. She talked to my breeder about my personality and decided she wanted a pretty Oriental name for me. She opened up one of her history books from WWII. She looked for pretty names and came across kaze which means "the wind". Kami-kaze means divine wind but she didn't want to name me that.

1. I popped my sternum a while back while leaping really high. This doesn't hurt at all and goes in/out but the LL says it feels like a floating rib. Its a genetic thing and I think a couple of my real sisfurs have it too. It doesn't bother me one bit.

2. The other night I woke the LL up by licking her arm. It was compulsive, I couldn't stop. She usually lets me do anything because I'm so cute but apparently that was annoying and for the first time in a long time, I got myself and Latte booted from the snuggle room.

3. I have a lot of eye gunkies. The LL hates them and is always chasing after me to get them out. I hate it. But I still purr while she does it because I'm always purring.

4. Recently I found out that I like clothes. They are warm and comforting, kind of like someone is holding you or petting you. I can easily play with them on and find them rather comfy.

5. I hate to have my teeth brushed. I hear the click of the cap and I RUN. Just the click and I'm GONE. For some reason the LL still always brushes them. Doesn't she know I hate it?

6. I am not afraid of guests, I go right up to them and meow very loudly to introduce myself. Then I stand up on their leg to sniff their hands. Then I go over to the toy closet and ask them to play with me (its only polite!)

7. I blog on a Powerbook by Apple. People think its a Macbook Pro but its from a few years ago and a "hand me down" from the Tall Man. He says its the most perfect machine created in a long time and its held its value still which is amazing for computers. I love how warm the metal is and so does Latte (it actually attracts him to the LL lap which is where he is now without me!)

Middle Name Meme and Tummy Tuesday

My middle name is actually Kaze. My full name is Moncoeur's Kaze so I guess that means my middle name is my regular name. Bonnie tagged the three of us while we were away!

K- Kind. I am very kind and I purr and purr and purr and snuggle and purr some more. I would never ever do anything to be mean to anyone but I do like to play hard with other cats.

A- Active. Yup, that's me, I never take a break. I want to play all of the time and if the Lap Lady won't play with me I find Latte or Chase to tackle. I don't really sleep much, I mostly just run around and have fun.

Z- Zippy. That is the nick name the LL calls me a lot. She says its because everywhere I go I run and its always with lots of speedy and ease at the same time. She also calls me zip-zee and I like to talk to her when she calls me that.

E- Extreme. Everything I do is to the max. Whether it is purring or playing or snuggling or meowing- its all as extreme as possible. Even my body type is extreme with my lithe body and big ears I am not your typical cat at all.


I know you all said I wouldn't have anything removed when the Lap Lady returned but I think you were wrong. She made the Tall Man hold me down and she removed my "daggers". I had sharpened them so much while she was away that they were really great weapons and grappling hooks. I was using them to dig in for really good shoulder rides and she said "enough!". So now my claws are clipped. I hate short claws. Actually I hate the clipping of claws.....

I wasn't around. But amazingly the Lap Lady was in high school and hadn't met the Tall Man yet. (They've known each other 9 years)

Pooing all over the place and getting to know my new family. Playing of course.

1. My most used nick name at the moment is Zippy. Usually the LL calls me by saying "Zip-zip!" and I make a little noise and trot over.
2. I do NOT like to be held on my back. There is a proper way to hold me and I must be hugging your shoulder with my front paws while you support my butt and allow me to grapple in and look all around. Any deviations will result in me squirming. Ever had a 3'+ long cat that weighs 8.25 squirm? Lets just say you're better off putting me down.
3. I HATE pawdicures. Really, just leave the claws where they are. I don't care that I'm marking up the new sofa by digging in and leaping off.
4. Whenever the LL goes out the front door I race her and try to get onto the front porch. I do not like Out of Doors but I love our enclosed front porch.
5. I am a Kleptomaniac. I steal trash. I can not help it.
6. My mama cat is in heat right now and she sounds like a barking dog (the LL heard her on the phone last night!)
7. I like pictures taken of me but not because I'm vain, just because it seems to make the LL happy and all I want to do in life is be happy with the Lap Lady.

How do you achieve balance in your life?
I find using my tail is the best help in keeping balance. Sometimes my ears can sway me one way or the other depending on if there is a breeze or not. I also think vocally expressing yourself keeps you on an even keel.

What is your biggest challenge in balancing your life?
People yelling at me. I have wonderful balance but sometimes I get up on places I'm not supposed to be and while I'm perfectly balanced....I get yelled at and loose my train of thought.

What are your priorities?
PLAYING!!!!! And purring.

How have your priorities changed over time and why?
Not really. I've been this way since I was a kitten. Of course I really love the Lap Lady and Latte and they weren't with me until I was 6 months old.

What advice can you share to help all of us balance our own lives?
Purr often; purr loudly.
