Thirteen Things I'm going to miss about having my own blog

9. The concept of "sharing" just doesn't apply to me. I mean, if the LL calls any other cat I yell and come running because she's only allowed to talk to me.
10. I won't have to call my humans by different names will I? Chase had better not try to get me to use his names. The Tall Man is tall not Awesome. The Lap Lady has a nice lap and is not the Woman.
11. I was the first one who started blogging, why should I give up my blog? Its my space. It was MY idea.
12. Will my friends follow me? I'm super sensitive and worried that my friends won't follow me. I know my true friends will follow me and I've already received nice e-mails. Thanks for all of the encouragement!
13. Talking every day of the week! I have A LOT to say so how am I going to keep quiet?

See Chase and Latte for the start of our 13

Happy Birthday Tall Man! Thursday Thirteen

Today I want to celebrate my Tall Man and his 28 years.  So I'm going to give some reasons why he's the bestest Tall Man ever.

1.  He's tall- that means he's an incredible perch!  His shoulders are a great place to hang out.
2.  He thinks up the best nick-names for me.  My favorite is Princess Kahzee-zee Bumblestumps the Third.  I simply adore being called by this name.
3.  He's the best person to play Whirly-Bird or any other interactive toy.  He just knows how to make it go!
4.  He lets me snuggle with my Lap Lady all night long.  For him this means she turns her back to him and hugs me.  This also means that even when he wants a "cat free" night he lets me stay with my Lap Lady anyway.
5.  He gives the best ear massages!!!  Which is great for those of us with big ears.
6.  He always laughs while yelling at me for stealing stuff.
7.  He talks very sweetly to me because he knows that for whatever reason he makes me nervous.  It makes him sad since he says he doesn't want me to be scared of him.
8.  He holds really good conversations on meezing.  He'll meeze at me for long times.  He especially likes to merf with me.
9.  He encourages me to chase Chase around to get him exercised.
10.  He's home more often than my Lap Lady so he's a good back up person to snuggle with.
11.  He lets me sniff his breath.  How cool is that?
12.  He's just a super happy guy who makes us all smile even if we're scared or mad or something.
13.  He yells at visitors when they say nasty things about me.  He tells them that I'm the sweetest cat ever.

Thursday Thirteen #52!

I did it! I did a year of Thursday Thirteens! Now I have to decide which of my brothers gets the right to carry our torch....Who do you think should get our TT? Latte or Chase? (You can vote on the poll to the left if you'd prefer)

Thirteen Things about my very abnormal week.

1. Gamma was here every day! I love Gamma and she's been assimilated into our family as Latte and I curl up on her lap and sleep.

2. The Lap Lady yakked more than I've ever even known humans could yak! I think she may have yakked up a lung. No matter, Latte and I played Thundering Herd of Elephants to keep her entertained.

3. Warm fleece blankets draped over the LL and with her foot in the air there was a perfect snuggle spot on her belly. Which Latte and I violently fought over. Plus she was pretty squirmy so maybe not so perfect?

4. NO STINKY GOODNESS. I'm just aghasted. None. Stupid Tall Man.

5. I got lots of wand toy time as it seemed to entertain the LL while she was on the couch. I had to drag it over to her but that was OK.

6. While the LL said I am the worst nurse possible I do not understand what that means.

7. I know lots of friends drink from glasses of water but we don't usually have them around. We did last week! Its fun to slurp and splash a bean who has had about an hour total of sleep in 48 hours.

8. Watching beans do crafts is VERY entertaining. The LL was very interested in this glue and paint stuff and I couldn't take my eyes off of her hands! And no, I didn't try to steal anything (for once).

9. Surgical boots are not soft. Or friendly. In fact they hurt if you get in their path.

10. Latte is such a little phoney. He claims not to like beans but he snuggled with the LL and Gramma constantly.

11. Chase was nowhere to be seen. He wouldn't even be in the same room as the LL. Something about her disgusting him with her weakness. We didn't play too much because I wanted to be with her since she was really snuggly.

12. Beans are stinky when they don't bathe for days. I mean, even for me to groom her....just too stinky. Thank goodness she is clean now!

13. Gamma is a much better litterbox attendant than the LL. She can't stand a stinky poo so she cleans it immediately. She also picks up yak much nicer (she asks if you are OK instead of saying your name in a frustrated tone).

Thirteen Things I will have to do for the Lap Lady this weekend

1. Snuggle and purr a lot. I've been resting my purrer getting ready to help heal her claw on her hind paw. I keep telling her that when my claws are clipped it doesn't hurt but she says they are going to go in and cut her little toe bone. Ow.

2. I'll have to not play "I'm Going to KILL you!!!" with Chase all day long and running over the couch. 'Cause the LL will be on the couch. And we might hurt her paw. Plus our growls and screeches (all in play) get her frustrated.

3. I'm sure I'll have to be nice and share her with Latte. She likes when we both nap on her so I guess I'll have to not whap him when he tries to snuggle.

4. I'm not sure what little gifties I'm going to bring her but I'll guarantee there will be some nice tid-bits that the Tall Man leaves around.

5. Entertaining her is going to be another important task. I'll have to get the Tall Man to swing the Whirly-bird so Latte and I can practice our leaping skills.

6. Looking cute for picture time may be a problem as her foot is going to be in the air and she won't be moving all that much. We'll have to be really still and really close to her an the camera can't "glich".

7. We're going to have some serious discussions on blogging. We want to talk about doing some more fun stuff and maybe change our layouts, etc.

8. Its a hard job but alerting her that books are EVIL and make beans BLIND is something I've been working on and winning. I get in between her and the evil thing so she has to put it down.

9. I'd say I have to get the mail and the newspaper but you all know how I hate Out of Doors AND snow.

10. I can't be too demanding of the Tall Man feeding us. I also can't expect much. He says no stinky goodness. I say he stinks.

11. I'll be the official taste tester for the LL when she gets chick-hen soup and milk and pudding. You never know if the TM is trying to poison her.

12. The heat box is going to be far away from her so I'm going to have to take trips when it starts to blow and bring her back some warm air.

13. She has some "crafts" lined up (ornament making and knitting) and I know helping her is going to be VERY time consuming yet very important!

Thursday Thirteen #50

Thirteen Reasons the Dining Room is my new favorite place

1. The rug sucking monster sucked up the rug. That means the floor is great for skidding and playing push the mouse around.

2. Human food ends up there and if I'm lucky the LL or TM will give me some tid-bits.

3. Of course the heat box. I LOVE my heat box.

4. Boxes of presents, wrapping paper, ribbons, bags, etc. Its like a kitty wonderland!

5. The toy closet holds all of the best things in the house. The toy closet happens to be in the dining room.

6. All of the good toys I've already played with and "lost" are under the bookshelf where I can't reach them anymore.

7. The stairs start in the dining room and Latte and I play how far back can we jump onto the landing. We can jump from really far!

8. The floor creaks more so I can tell if another cat is coming to try and steal my morning stinky goodness. Before I had to keep looking up and checking and then I would just get so distracted I'd stop eating.

9. Chase doesn't get tossed into the kitchen when he's going to yak. Its disturbing to see a Big Man Cat flying through the air just because he's yakking. Now if he yaks on the floor its just cleaned right up.

10. The LL leaves her jackets out on the chairs. If we're lucky enough we can manuver them so we can lie on them and stay warm. Also her scarves are lots of fun to play with!

11. One of my favorite vantage points is on top of the toy closet. I can get there by walking though the bars of the stairs. Its not really a closet, its a misplaced armoir. It does not match the decor but got stuck where it is when the humans moved in.

12. Playing meezer tag between/on the antique chairs is tons of fun!

13. Sometimes really cool things show up when the LL is wrapping presents. Some of them are packing peanuts, some are twist ties, others are bits of paper.

Thursday Thirteen #49 Thanksgiving!

Thirteen Things I would put in my Box of Life (Miss Peach's meme that Dragonheart tagged me for).

1. First of all I would need the love and protection of my Lap Lady. I depend on her completely and I need her with me to take care of me.

2. I would want Latte of course because he's such a wonderful brother and a great snuggler. We get along so well you wouldn't know that we aren't from the same litter or even the same breed of cat!

3. My grass wand toy. This thing just keeps my leaping and happy no matter what.

4. My breeder's love and the love of my family of Moncoeur's cats. I carry their love and spirit throughout every day. My breeder's love for Orientals and spirit to breed made me who I am.

5. My heat box. I am pretty sure the Tall Man designed this just for me so I could be warm in the winter. I love it.

6. Our Millie Bed from Siamese Rescue. We have had it since Latte was a kitten so before I was ever born! It holds up so well and is perfectly positioned in front of the blowy heat thing in the living room.

7. The perfect snuggle spot that the LL gives me every night in the big bed. She knows I like her left side and I like to curl up in her arms under the blankets but with my nose able to poke out. She won't move all night so I stay comfy.

8. The love of my blogging friends. I truly don't know where I'd be without all of you! You make me so happy and feel so loved even when I'm down or askeered.

9. My boyfriend cat Mao. He can be a bit cranky but he's a softie at heart. I know he'd always be there for me if I needed anything.

10. The Whirly-bird which brings us all together as a family. Latte and I play with it while Chase watches. The Tall Man swings the bird and the LL either watches or takes pictures. I love family time.

11. Trash. I can't help myself, there are so many treasures in the form of q-tips, tags, bits of plastic and paper.

12. UPS & the Postal Service. Haha, I know this is silly but they always get our packages to our friends safe and sound either in this country or abroad. Plus they deliver stuff to our house.

13. I'd have to throw in some serious purrs and meezes because I'm just all about them! I'm one loud little girl kitty and it wouldn't be my box of life without them.

Thursday Thirteen #48

PB & J tagged me for the 7 things Meme. I think I've done it before but things are always changing with me so I'm going to do it as my T13 this week.

1. My shoulder surfing is coming along so well that I've started flinging myself at the LL when she least expects it. This sadly is not going well as she then nudges me off if she's busy. She says she has to be ready...pshaw!

2. My latest way to get yelled at demand what I want is to yell at the Snuggle Room door while attempting to turn the knob. If we had levers there would be no way to keep me out. As it is, I'm almost there on turning the knob.

3. I find it easy to sleep through the night when the weather is cold. This is causing the LL some back pain because she can't thrash around when I'm right next to her. For some reason the thrashing keeps her back from hurting.

4. I've had an insatiable appetite lately. I eat all of my stinky goodness and ask for more. The LL has figured out that I have seasonal eating habits. I'm giving her a break as I'm only 1 year old still so she's still just learning.

5. The heat box is MY spot. When that loud thing in the basement comes on I RUN to the heatbox and sit there while the nice hot air blows on me. Its blissful.

6. When the Tall Man gives me body massages I want to lick his hand. But not the Lap Lady, just the Tall Man. Maybe he has tasty hands?

7. The Lap Lady locked me in the human litter box room while she blew the hot air noise maker on her hair. I know I didn't want to leave but I did not want my ears to listen to that. I spent the time going from one side of the room to the other but not merfing because she couldn't hear me over the noise.

8. When I talk someone always responds. Either with "what do you want Kaze?", "No Kaze, I'm not playing with you now!", "Mooow. Meeze!" (humans trying to speak cat), or I at least get a look. I'm never ignored.

9. I spend the cold days tucked under Latte in the Millie Bed in front of the heat vent in the Living Room. I don't budge much at all.

10. I don't greet anyone when they come home from work. Chase does that and I'm far too snuggly with Latte.

11. I like to redecorate, in fact I feel it is my calling in life. Pillows should be on the floor, blankets should not be neatly folded. I'm always cleaning up this place!

12. When the LL cooks I stay out of the kitchen. There are loud noises and she moves really fast and there really is no point in getting stepped on. I do go in every 15 minutes or so, yell at her to see if she's OK, and then leave. I hear next week she's going to live in the kitchen.

13. I like pumpkin pudding. A lot. Mmmm.......Its better than yogurt! The LL will have to remember that for next time I have poo problems to give me pumpkin in pudding.

Thursday Thirteen #47

Thirteen Things about the Lap Lady she wouldn't want me to share with you but since she is turning 26 on Monday and 13x2 is 26 I get to say what I want. I think.

1. (1-2 years) When she was a little human kitten she tried to run away in her baby walker thing. You know where the babies sit in them and their feet kind of touch the ground so they can "walk"? Well she lived in EASTERN Maine (her town bordered Canada) and there were hills and she got away from her mother and started to cruise down a hill towards a tree. Good thing Gramma runs fast.

2. (3-4 years) Being a bit...stubborn...she got annoyed with Gramma and managed to lock herself in the attic for 4 hours. No one is sure about how she did that but the locksmith had to come let her out.

3. (5-6 years) Here the LL found out that she wasn't exactly good with parental separation when she attended kindergarten. Really bad. The teacher had to pull her off of her Mommy and Daddy.

4. (7-8 years) The LL hurt a new friend's feelings when she referred to an old friend as her "best friend". She got into some serious trouble from her new teacher and learned to keep her mouth shut about playing favorites (but I'm her favorite!)

5. (9-10 years) Family life fell apart in Maine and they had to move to New Jersey. This was one of the most painful times in her life as she adjusted to Middle School and caddy-pre-teen girls as the "country-bumpkin". She doesn't like to think about it.

6. (11-12 years) The LL started riding horses again which made her really happy. She found strength in herself and her abilites through the big animals.

7. (13-14 years) Boys came into the picture and while she made some life-long friends; looking back she was completely clueless. Oh, and she would cheat on her daily French quiz, that was BAD.

8. (15-16 years) This is when she met the Tall Man. She did really well in school but alienated the few friends she had when she spent all of her time with the Tall Man. Then he went away to college.

9. (17-18) Another real low point in her emotional stature but she made it through and moved in with the Tall Man while she started school at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. This is when they got Chase.

10. (19-20 years) She started riding very seriously and leased her first horses. She also taught riding lessons all while double majoring in school.

11. (21-22 years) The LL experimented with some legal internships but decided it wasn't as thrilling as she had once thought. Thus she decided not to bother with Law School. She graduated college and got married 1 week later.

12. (23-24 years) The LL and the TM purchased the house we all live in now. She also got Latte around her 24th birthday. She was very very happy with her life and the choices and paths she took.

13. (25-26 years) Well I came into her life and that is most important. But she suffered some losses of loved ones and really decided to not sweat the small stuff, enjoy the blessings she has, and just have fun in life.

I think the LL has grown a lot in her first 26 years but obviously has A LOT more growing to do. I'm proud of her and am honored to call her my Lap Lady.

T13 Cat Blogging Words

13 Words from Cat Blogging that Your Humans May or May not Have Trouble Leaving Behind on the Innernets (oh that should be one!).

1. Askeered/scairt- a term that describes fear/to be afraid of something. Commonly used when there is a loud noise or something out of the ordinary occurs.

2. Vishus Deer- These creatures are too scary for young juicy cats and they go around using their lazer beam eyes and eating cats. These are arguably the scariest things a cat can face.

3. Beans- aka human slaves, etc. are the human beings that take care of us. Not to be confused with "beans" in the horse world which are icky buildup in the "male member" that must be removed in order for them to pee freely.

4. Toesday- and other days of the week. When your humans are defining their days by these terms you know you have a well trained bean.

5. Meeze- or meezer. A noise that a siamese cat makes. It is loud and distinctive but varies greatly from cat to cat. Other non-meezers can also meeze.

6. Spot #13- this is that spot that you don't talk about that you have to keep super duper clean and poo comes out of it.

7. PTU- Prisoner Transportation Unit this is that box they put you in with the door on the front and then they drive you to the VET or you spend hours in the metal monster with wheels (aka car)

8. George- Proper name generally used to describe lizards. If you meet a lizard and he won't tell you his name (because lizards are RUDE) then his name is probably George. Unless he's spying on you, then his name is Tom.

9. Gizzy Quilt- a beautiful handmade quilt made by Millie's mom and completely customized to each cat she makes it for. I think most cats have them now and they are just beautiful and so comfy. They started to raise money for Gizzy's vet bills but kept going in his memory. Jasmine used to test them all personally before she went to the Rainbow Bridge (I think most know what that is)

10. Spicy Vixen/Charmer- groups of hot single girl cats who are in love with Big Man Cats. The Big Man Cats encourage them to date around but take care of their ladies.

11. Temptations- Pretty much common currency. Cats will kill for them- really its kitty-crack.

12. Rug Sucking Monster- there are other terms for this but it is that loud sucking machine that is going to eat you. Run!!!!

13. Fev-Vers- aka feathers for humans. These are one of the best things to play with. Especially on the Whirly-Bird.

I hope you have enjoyed this list of just some of our special words that mean a lot to us.

Thirteen Great Things Behind this Door

1. The grass wand toy, which is by far my most favorite.
2. The Whirly-Bird which is my #2 favorite.
3. Squiggles! Hmm...these might be my most favorite.
4. Catnip Banana that is only for Chase.
5. Temptations!!!
6. Fake shmousies that are brand new.
7. Fake shmousies that are tail-less and well chewed.
8. Sparkle balls that I'm not allowed to play with anymore because I make a mess.
9. Pure Catnip in bags.
10. All of the cool new toys from the Big Piney Woods cats- especially this cool yarn ball toy.
11. Balls of all sorts but we're not into those really.
12. The red dot. Its in there...somewhere....
13. Chase. Well one night he did spend the whole night in there! That would be heaven for me.

Thursday Thirteen #43

Thirteen Things that are keeping the Lap Lady from spending time with me

1. Work....stupid thing, I just don't understand it and I think my LL should be home with me all day and night.

2. Snap....Why is a horse more interesting than a cat? She spends her evening hours riding. She's currently desperately waiting for a new saddle to come from the Yoo-Kay.

3. The Tall Man....he can be demanding of her time too. For some reason he likes to talk to her and snuggle with her. Duh...she's MY Lap Lady.

4. Cooking....since she figured out she has Celiac's Disease (she can't eat wheat or gluten) she's been on an adventure to find new foods. This means she actually has to spend time over that hot box and chopping stuff. Why she doesn't just eat our food I don't know. Its gluten free.

5. Research....again with the gluten stuff. She spends so much time reading gluten free bloggers learning about their stories, reading recipes, and finding out things to try/avoid.

6. Sleep....sure this is always a thing for her but when I purr she should wake up and pet me. I'm very conveniently located in her left arm-pit. Petting should be easy.

7. Walking....sure they take Latte & Chase in the stroller to enjoy the last of the summer warmth but I get left at home. Not that I want to go out in the stroller!! But if fall would just arrive then maybe she would not walk around town every night.

8. Showering....I still never understand why humans don't just lick themselves clean. I mean, its SO much more convenient and its always with you. And really, completely covering yourself in water? No sense. None.

9. Cleaning....I guess this one is usually going on too but lately she's been picking stuff up and vacuuming and doing laundry like crazy. She says its because its fall.

10. Litterboxes....I'll admit this is for us. I don't like that smell of pee and I don't like my dainty paws touching my own poo let alone Chase or Latte's. So this one while it takes time is necessary.

11. Reading....things other than Cat Blogs!! Instead of the lap-top (which gets in my way when I'm in her lap but its OK since we're blogging together) she's been staring at those book things. Strange.

12. Chatting....with humans online. She spends lots of time on the Siamese and Oriental Cat Chat Club talking to humans about cats.

13. Family functions....she's had birthday parties and wedding showers and now she says she has to start getting ready for X-Mas already. Sigh....I'm her family why isn't she just spending her time with me??? I need more pictures of my beautiful self, not of humans opening toasters.

Thirteen Reasons the Tall Man is very very Special

1. He plays with me!!! Recently he has played with me for so many hours I can't count. I think he's trying to make me love him more than the Lap Lady (which won't happen) but he's working really hard at 1-2 hours of play time a day just for me.

2. He doesn't just pick up any random toy, he gets my favorite toy (the grass wand). He plays with Latte & the Whirly-Bird and Chase gets the "bite-game" and we're all welcome to play together and no one gets any less of their one-on-one toy time.

3. He gives the BEST body massages. They make me purr so loudly!!!! His one hand is just magical.

4. He tells me I'm beautiful. Its just nice to hear when he honestly just stops what he's doing and says, "Kaze is so beautiful!". That makes me purr.

5. He holds conversations with me. He'll talk to me back and forth when I want something. He makes the same noises I make! Its like he's trying to speak cat but sadly for him his accent is just too thick. His favorite is my screaming "Maoooooo!"

6. He calls me the sweetest most angelic creature who doesn't have a mean bone in my body. (He does dislike my trash stealing tendencies though).

7. He never disturbs the Lap Lady when she's in snuggle position. That's nice because I make her sleep on her left side and he is on her right side but he forgoes her snuggles for my benefit.

8. He doesn't give me medicine. That's one of the best things ever!!!

9. He lets me climb him when I'm nervous and need to feel safe. Even when I dig my claws into his shoulders he just says "Owwwww!!!" but lets me scramble.

10. He lets me smell his breath. Human breath is VERY weird and I like to investigate what they've been eating. I mean, it doesn't smell like fish in there so what exactly is wrong with them?

11. He named me the bestest nick-name ever Princess Kah-zee-zee Bumblestumps III. I LOVE this name and I always come running and talking whenever I hear it.

12. He knows how to gently hold me when I get my claws clipped. I really HATE having my claws clipped but I still purr and he holds me really nicely.

13. He let me come live at my forever home and still loves me even though I'm cat #3 (he swore no more than 2), I screamed and was MISERABLE on my trip from Washington, DC home, I stunk-leaked poo- and was a roaring b*#%h and didn't like anyone my first week including being MEAN and NASTY to others. He's a softie at heart.

Thirteen Weird Goings On This Week

1. Chase & Latte disappeared one night for an hour. They went out in the *shudder* stroller. Now I love the stroller In Doors but Out of Doors? You have to be insane.
BAD

2. The stroller lived in our kitchen all week which is cool because I like to nap in it on the pad the Lap Lady made last year.
GOOD

3. Latte purred louder than me. I know!! Who would have thought it was possible? It was because the Tall Man rubbed his back with a water bottle.
BAD (this is just not normal and abnormal is BAD)

4. The Lap Lady spent hours crying. I tried to comfort her but she was too upsetted to even want to snuggle.
BAD

5. The Tall Man made the Lap Lady cry because she wasn't being very tolerant to me. She was ignoring my wanting to play and had no tolerance for my meezes. She changed really fast and started playing with me.
GOOD

6. I used to only fetch sparkle balls but they've been banned (we get sparkles everywhere) so this week I learned how to play fetch with squiggles! I even get up on the couch to make it easier for the LL to throw it.
GOOD

7. We've slept through the night in the snuggle room most nights this week. That means I can snuggle until the LL gets up in the morning.
GOOD

8. Some strange men came to our house and dropped of some large piles of stuff. Then they came back and kept looking in the windows at us!! They are flinging stuff off the roof!!! Its scary.
BAD

9. Chase let me snuggle with him! In public. He likes to play with me but doesn't like to show any affection for me usually.
GOOD

10. The LL didn't go to the barn nearly as much as she usually does. She said its because she needs to make her diet a priority (she found out she can't eat wheat gluten so now she has to actually start cooking food, she was really lazy and liked to microwave before now).
GOOD

11. The weather has been hot. Its late September so it should be cool. Its hard to decide if this is good or bad but I don't like being cold in general. There is also a huge full moon.
GOOD

12. We got lots of kitty mail!! We love getting kitty mail as we get the best stuff. Although the humans were thrilled when they got a fat check back from the State of NJ for "property tax relief".
GOOD

13. Latte learned how to play tug-o-war with squiggles. If I tug he tugs back and its so much fun!!! (no pictures yet)
GOOD

9/13 are GOOD so I guess that means its been a pretty good week, if not very odd!

Thursday Thirteen #40

Thirteen Things To Do When the Weather Gets Cooler.

1. Snuggle!! Snuggle lots and for long periods of time. With yourself, with other cats, with your humans, whatever keeps you warm. This is also refered to warmth sapping. Latte's really good at that.

2. Eat more food! On the cool mornings its nice to eat a nice plate of fresh from the can stinky goodness.

3. Play Thundering Herd of Elephats for at least an hour every night. This assures that you stay nice and fit.

4. Beg steal or borrow playing time. Really DEMAND that your humans play with you.

5. Sniff the cool air when the windows are open. Open windows with cool breezes are really interesting!

6. Explore the front porch because you are allowed out there when the door is open. If you don't have a porch I'm sorry. You should insist one be built for you!

7. Be sure to groom your fur really well since you're shedding your summer coat and getting your winter coat when the sun goes down earlier (unless you are Dragonheart who luckily doesn't have to have hairballs).

8. As a follow up...yak up tons of furballs. This is best done in random spots all over the house.

9. Change your sleeping patterns to toally confuse the humans and sleep through the whole night. I guarantee they will wake up at your usual time anyway and won't have you to blame.

10. Curl up with your humans while they are watching TV. They tend to hang around a lot more and watch more TV.

12. Cry with your humans when their Football teams don't do well. Those Eagles are really getting into trouble....

13. Visit all of your blogging friends and check out what they are all up to. OK that is something to do all of the time but you tend to have more time since the humans aren't as busy.

Thursday Thirteen #39

Its been a while so lets go with 13 things about my day.

1. I'm sleeping soundly under the covers on the LL's left side in her armpit when Latte walks across something paper/plastic. This gets me tossed from the room.

2. Latte and I play and then eventually fall asleep in the cat room.

3. Finally the sun rises and I sit patiently outside the snuggle room door with Latte. The LL lets us in and I purr and get a morning hug and kiss while playing with her stockings.

4. Into the bathroom I zip and leap onto the sink. I purr some more and try to convince the LL its a good idea to let me play with the faucet. She doesn't let me and instead I try to bat at her eyeliner while she pushes my paw away since she doesn't want to "go blind".

5. Downstairs we go where she promptly serves me breakfast, fills out water, and gives us crunchies. Here I decided if I want stinky goodness or I'd rather play. 8/10 times playing wins.

6. The LL goes into the living room to help us post our blogs for the day while eating her cereal. Latte hovers waiting for milk while I sit on the floor next to a squiggle and cry for her to play with me. Doesn't work.

7. There goes the metal monster! Sigh....guess I'll have to entertain myself. Lets see....are there any nice bits of "trash" to play with? Yup, there is a sliver of cardboard. Weeehhhee!

8. Nap time....where is Latte? Probably on the Gizzy quilt. Yup, lets sleep.

9. Hmm...crunchies would be tasty I'll go have some. Oh, and some water. Back to sleep.

10. Why are Chase and Latte up? The metal machine is back! I wake up slowly and the LL comes over to pet my head.

11. PLAY WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why does this never work? Sigh...Guess I'll just go sit on the LL's lap and purr.

12. Time for bed! The LL calls for me and I come and shove my head under the covers and assume the snuggling position.

13. Latte sits on my head. Dang him. Get offf!!!! Oh whatever, I'll just purr and sleep.

Thirteen of my Recent Finds Around the House

1. Will the LL ever learn that I am NOT going to forget about her feminine thingies even at night when she's tired and doesn't want to walk downstairs to throw them away? They will be in the hall the next morning.

2. Shoe related items. Including but not limited to tissue paper, plastic inserts, and plastic stick thingies. (Chase squeezes in the boxes)

3. Medications. The LL has a trial pack of Singulair and I stole the tin foil pack and put little bitey holes in it. (don't worry, I didn't eat them).

4. Plastic covers from switch plates. Along with paint the humans replaced old outlets and covers which come in fun plastic bags!

5. The usual strips of cardboard from packaging.

6. An old toothpaste tube. (It was metallic!)

7. Receipts. You know, the only ones to Lowe's that the LL really needed to exchange certain items.

8. Tape bits from the taping of the walls. They are sticky but they're fun to bat around too!

9. Bits of old wallpaper border. I didn't really want it but I had the URGE to steal and it was there.

10. A funnel. Yup....a yellow one sitting on a table. Again....just there.

11. Hair things are a staple for me. They're great to bat around.

12. "Other" plastic packaging of undetermined origin. I refuse to drop it even when the LL says "Kaaaazzzeeee!" in that special way that I know I'm doing something she doesn't like. That is my cue to RUN!!!!!

13. Egg shells. Really, they're lots more fun than you would think. Especially when they're found under the bookshelf.

Do you think I need more PLAY TIME????? Um....yeah!!!

Thirteen Things I am grateful for

1. Friends. They are always there for us when we need them. They keep you happy and make you feel loved. Even those friends you didn't really know you had can be there for you in the hardest times.
2. The Lap Lady. Without her I don't know what I would do. She's my very special person and I need her to make me happy and purr and play with me.
3. Toys. Simple...I live to play. I play to live. Without playing I'm miserable.
4. Snuggling. A simple snuggle can put a purr in my chest and a smile on my face.
5. Latte is the best big/little brother. He's really tiny but huge in personality. We play together but more often snuggle. He's so warm and soft and fits perfectly in a head-tail position.
6. Chase for playing. We don't really snuggle much (his choice) but we run around all over the place and play HARD.
7. A good clean litterbox. Nothing like a freshly cleaned box.
8. Temptations. They're tasty but I prefer fishy flakes and I just ran out :(. The LL doesn't even know where to get them now.
9. The Tall Man for his shoulder rides and his body massages. He gives such great massages that I have to lick him while I'm purring.
10. My health and the health of those I love. Life is so fragile and its so important to cherish every moment. Especially during this sad time we need to show our love and support.
11. The fact that the Lap Lady can help us each have our own blog. She often thinks about combining us but we're all so different she doesn't know how she would do it.
12. All of the love and help given to animals in need. There are so many animals in need and those who work tirelessly to save them deserve so much admiration and respect. Even the small things count!
13. My forever home. I love my house and its so great to know that I'll always have food and a roof over my head and a warm place to sleep.

Thirteen Reasons Cats are dissimilar to Horses
(and that's a good thing!)

1. Snap (our horse) weighs about 1,000 lbs. I weigh 8.5 lbs.

2. Horses have hooves. Hooves are hard and they are instead of paws and claws. Actually, the hoof is the "middle finger" of the horse, they used to have 5 "fingers" and now they are just bones in their legs. These hooves can cause horrible pain and even death. Fun! Makes me happy I have paws.

3. Horse VET's come to the farm and that means lots of green papers. Horse VETS carry everything they need in their trucks, its like a mobile VET station. Can you imagine eating your stinky goodness and having a VET come pull you away and stick you with stuff in your own home???

4. Horses have to be on a worming schedule because they are constantly eating worms. Unlike cats who are mostly prone to tapeworms and the like, horses eat so much of their own poo (EW!) that they end up with worms all of the time. I don't know about you but if I had worms constantly....I'd be mighty displeased.

5. Horses don't eat meat, they eat grass, hay, and grain. That means they don't have fangs, they only have mushy teeth but those teeth are BIG, like the size of one of Chase's paws! They have a section of their mouths in the middle that has no teeth, that is where the bit rests when they are being ridden. Um....I'll stick with my pointy teeth and meat thank you very much! Grass? I thought you only ate that to yak or get all nippy.

6. Instead of a furry tail their tail is made up of hair. They have a section called the "dock" which is bone that is about a foot long and the rest of their tail is made of hair. I don't think I'd like hair, you couldn't use it to balance when you're leaping after toys!

7. How about the fact that they let people ride them? That's just insane. Why would you ever let a human tell you what to do from a distance let alone on your back??

8. They are scared of stupid stuff. Like human coats and the Boogie Man and they think everything is out to kill them. Why would anyone want to harm a cat? We're cute, we're fuzzy, and we know it. Sure some cats have to worry but in my house, you can do anything to me because I'm quite certain (95%) that no one will ever hurt me on purpose.

9. Horses walk voluntarily into tight boxes with their own wheels to go places. They call them trailers. I know some cats (Chase) love PTU's but there is no way I'm going nicely into a rolling metal box on wheels where I can't see out and I can move about 1' on either side of me.

10. Horses don't blog. At least I couldn't find a blogging horse when I was looking for my NOMSS. Must be the whole hoof thing getting in the way. Did I mention lots of them have METAL NAILED to their feet???? I wouldn't like not being able to blog, I need my computer time.

11. Horses never go inside. They never feel a nice warm cozy fuzzy bed, or sit under a heating vent, or snuggle with siblings. I would never ever ever survive outside. I hate Out of Doors where Snap LOVES being out in a field.

12. Horses jump inanimate objects for fun. Cats jump UP or OUT for fun or while hunting. Why would you just go jump over a table??

13. And the last reason.....I get to snuggle with my Lap Lady every night while Snap has to live 30 minutes away in a box stall. The whole 30 minutes away thing is starting to kill the LL especially since she can't ride in this weather and Snap is covered in fungus.

Thirteen Grooming Tips from Yours Truly

1. Always keep your spot #13 clean but never allow it to be photographed (Chase!).
2. Start with your paws because you are going to use them to help you clean your ears and face. Lick your paws until they are very very wet on top and the pads are sparkling.
3. Work your way up your front legs alternating as you go.
4. Go back to your paws and use them to wash your whiskers and the sides of your face. Also get your ears with your paws.
5. Your back is mostly going to be pretty clean but turn around as far as you can and extend your tongue really far. Make some big head movements where your whole head wags and drag your tongue across your fur.
6. Get comfy on your booty because now we have to get down to business!
7. Sniff your spot #13. Lick as needed. Make sure there are no tid-bits left over from your earlier litterbox session.
8. Make sure while doing this you stick ONE leg straight up in the air. This will help you balance and get a good angle.
9. Now lie back and lick your belly. Kind of like your back but here you might want to nibble a little bit in the dirtier areas. The dirtier areas are invisinible so basically if you have an itch.
10. Chew your toe nails. Chew them long and hard and LOUD. Pick at them and gnaw and nibble between.
11. Find your tail and check for any impurities. If needed, grab your tail with one paw to hold it down (they have a mind of your own!). Lick freely!
12. Now you have to re-evaluate if you've cleaned every surface properly. Did you get under your armpits? How about your elbows? These areas are easy to miss.
13. A good groomer always shares his/her talents with siblings. If you go over to Latte's blog you will see me helping him get his hard spots.
