Meezing on Monday

I'll admit, some cats might think this is kitty torture. I, however, purred my heart out. I find it quite comfy to have my paws held and lie on my back. Also, the nip banana was Chase's left overs, I don't really get in on nip. My Tall Man called this pose a "Kaze tube". So today my meezing has to do with trying new things because you never know what you're going to enjoy.

Today I want to meeze about snuggling. Its always better with a partner. Sure humans are the best for warmth sapping but brofurs can be quite useful. That is when they aren't lying on top of you. That's annoying.

Today I'd like to meeze about meezes.  Lots of my friends have asked what exactly is a meeze?  And what about a merf?  Well since it was such a meeze filled weekend (I never had a chance to be quiet it seemed) I figured I'd explain.

To meeze comes from the word Meezer which comes from Siamese.  Siamese have have a very distinctive and loud voice.  Us Oriental Shorthairs who are descended from Siamese have even louder and constant talking voices (at least my line of OSHs does).  I talk constantly!  From day break to sleepy time I'm either meezing or purring or meeze-purring.  The humans say its like having another person talking in the house all of the time.  I meeze when I want things, when I don't want things, and when I'm bored.  I meeze constantly!!

I merf when I'm quiet and sleepy.  Its when I go to meeze but its really soft so I kind of puff out one of my lips and this merf noise comes out.  The Tall Man loves it and thinks its especially adorable how my lip puffs with air and I say merf.  So that's my signature noise even though I have many.  I do not just have one meeze, I have like hundreds of different tones and voices for how I'm feeling.

Today I'd like to meeze about humans messing up our schedules.  How dare my Lap Lady not be around for a week???  I snuggled and purred and looked all cute but every morning she got up early and drove to Atlantic City and got home really late.  She came home with a huge bag of schwag and tons of little fun things for me to play with.  

The Lap Lady and Tall Man spent most of the weekend getting him a birthday present- a cool fancy bike!  Of course the Lap Lady got a new one too because he didn't want to bike alone (but hers cost nothing like his!).  So now I have to share my Lap Lady with Snap but now this thing will steal her time.  I just can't win.  I'm trying to meeze louder to get more attention but I still don't have the results I want.

It was a terrifying lonely weekend!!!  Do you see what I had to resort to?  Snuggling with Chase when he was asleep so he wouldn't know it was me.  I was so askeered!!!  

OK, so the Lap Lady was Out of Doors all day on Saturday.  I missed her so I yelled to her out of the windows while she was working.  When she was done she took Latte outside and he had a nice time so she decided to *gulp* give me a turn.  Now, I had previously last fall like being Out of Doors a little bit.  That was until the VISHUS GIANT CAT EATING DOG!!!!!  (Note from the LL:  "Cookie" is a 3lbs. Yorkshire Terrier with a very waggy tail).

I kid you not, this THING tried to eat me.  So I HAD to puff up and hiss at it.  Luckily my Lap Lady had a sweatshirt on so I knew it was OK to climb her shoulders.  I only climb her when she has a sweatshirt on so I don't hurt her with my claws.  I have never been so puffed up before in my life!  Needless to say my outdoor trip did not last too long but she did take me to the other side of the house so I'd "get over it".  I don't "get over" things.  I meeze about them.  Loudly.  The neighbor lady was a bit taken aback by my meezing.  Well neighbor lady- get your VISHUS creature away from me and I'll stop meezing!

Today I want to meeze about friends. My friends have taught me about so many wonderful things in this world that I would NEVER have known about. My friends are the reason I keep on blogging even when the Lap Lady tries to figure out a way to make us slow down or even *gasp* stop. I just stand there and yell at her and remind her how important my friends are to me!

My bestest friends Merlin & Dragonheart sent ME this awesome toy from Germany. Its one of their favorites and I can totally tell why! This thing is amazing!!! I'll show you more pictures this week of me enjoying but wow, I have not leapt around like this in a really really long time. Thank you so much Dragonheart and Merlin, I LOVE it!!!!

My LL went away with some ladies for Saturday. She says they're all related to the Tall Man and she was totally excited to be included. But as far as I was concerned- she LEFT me. She left me all alone and I MISSED her so much. I have no idea how she slept without me purring in her arms. I didn't even bother snuggling with the Tall Man during the night, I just saved up my love and I leapt at the Lap Lady when she came in the door.

As you know I have a special bond with my Lap Lady.  However I also have a special bond with my Tall Man.  He's really really good at petting and playing.  Its really important to use everything in your environment for your pleasure.  You have to take what you can get with humans and I've found the Tall Man to be quite useful especially when my LL is a the barn.

Today I want to meeze about the most convenient toy...the tail.  When your humans fail to entertain you properly (and we all know this is FAR too common) there is always your tail to chase.  Or that of one of your fur siblings.  I suggest finding a nice sun spot and going to town.  Cameras optional but it tends to draw a human crowd.

Today I would like to meeze on video gaming systems. DO NOT let these into your homes, especially the Wii. (Especially if your human is obsessed with horses and buys a horse game.) First of all you loose time with your human- the woman and Auntie E played for 5 hours straight yesterday. Secondly, the furniture moves around. Thirdly- you aren't even going to believe this one its SO terrible:

YOU CAN GET HIT IN THE HEAD WITH THE WII_MOTE!!! I went to jump up on the couch while the LL was "bowling" and on her back swing she hit me HARD in the head. Luckily those wii-mote things have wii-jackets which make them less hurty when they hit stuff. The LL was all "I'm SOOOO sorry Kaze!!!" I was like, yeah whatever, it didn't really hurt but I'll take the hugs and kisses.

However, LL, this butt's for you!

Meezing on Monday

When investigating new areas always check first for heat sources.  This is our porch heater and it blows hot air and has flashy log thingies.  It blows really nice warm air so its kind of like my heatbox.  

The Lap Lady read all day on Saturday- she NEVER does that.  Not a book anyway so I really enjoyed some quality time with her.  So much so that on Sunday morning when we woke up I didn't even purr when she scritched my ears.  I just blinky looked at her.  She thought I was sick but I was just accepting her as another cat.  I didn't purr because it was like mutual grooming.

Today I'd like to meeze on humans and this "work" aka "day hunting" thing they do. Now, I realize they do it so that we can have stinky goodness and toys and a house and stuff so I can accept that she will be gone for a predetermined amount of time 5 days a week. What I can not accept is when she works from the morning until 1:30am. That is not cool. Humans need to remember that we are the most important things in their life! They need to remember that work is just to get green papers and they are supposed to grow on trees (are they not??!).

When I don't get my LL time I get cranky and needy. I followed her around all day on Saturday and couldn't seem to catch up on my love time. She can't do this work thing much more- its killing me!

Meezing on Monday

Playing is an issue near and dear to my heart. I probably meeze more on this subject than on anything else. This is the famous Toy Closet. It holds toys, treats, and other magical tidbits of joy. The Lap Lady SO tortured us by "cleaning" out the closet. Do you know she threw AWAY toys? I mean, I know trash is always a toy but toys as trash? Mind boggling. Anyhow, she was cleaning out old shmousies that Latte or Chase had eaten the butt end of and totally frayed squiggle worms and grass wands. It was sad to see the old friends go but at least now we can find everything.

I spent the entire hour meezing at her. Just standing there while she was "working" and meezed. I have to say being vocal has its uses. I annoyed her so much that she would toss me a new toy every now and then after I lost the one she'd just tossed me. Use the power of your voice!

Today I'd like to meeze about the sun. The sun is starting to be brighter and around longer and this pleases me. There are so many things to do in a sun spot- nap, play, eat, bathe, etc. This was a mid-bath roll over to show the sun my belly in a sign of deference to its power. So Sun I salute you! Thank you for shining and making me happy and warm.
