Thursday Thirteen #43
Thirteen Things that are keeping the Lap Lady from spending time with me
1. Work....stupid thing, I just don't understand it and I think my LL should be home with me all day and night.
2. Snap....Why is a horse more interesting than a cat? She spends her evening hours riding. She's currently desperately waiting for a new saddle to come from the Yoo-Kay.
3. The Tall Man....he can be demanding of her time too. For some reason he likes to talk to her and snuggle with her. Duh...she's MY Lap Lady.
4. Cooking....since she figured out she has Celiac's Disease (she can't eat wheat or gluten) she's been on an adventure to find new foods. This means she actually has to spend time over that hot box and chopping stuff. Why she doesn't just eat our food I don't know. Its gluten free.
5. Research....again with the gluten stuff. She spends so much time reading gluten free bloggers learning about their stories, reading recipes, and finding out things to try/avoid.
6. Sleep....sure this is always a thing for her but when I purr she should wake up and pet me. I'm very conveniently located in her left arm-pit. Petting should be easy.
7. Walking....sure they take Latte & Chase in the stroller to enjoy the last of the summer warmth but I get left at home. Not that I want to go out in the stroller!! But if fall would just arrive then maybe she would not walk around town every night.
8. Showering....I still never understand why humans don't just lick themselves clean. I mean, its SO much more convenient and its always with you. And really, completely covering yourself in water? No sense. None.
9. Cleaning....I guess this one is usually going on too but lately she's been picking stuff up and vacuuming and doing laundry like crazy. She says its because its fall.
10. Litterboxes....I'll admit this is for us. I don't like that smell of pee and I don't like my dainty paws touching my own poo let alone Chase or Latte's. So this one while it takes time is necessary.
11. Reading....things other than Cat Blogs!! Instead of the lap-top (which gets in my way when I'm in her lap but its OK since we're blogging together) she's been staring at those book things. Strange.
12. Chatting....with humans online. She spends lots of time on the Siamese and Oriental Cat Chat Club talking to humans about cats.
13. Family functions....she's had birthday parties and wedding showers and now she says she has to start getting ready for X-Mas already. Sigh....I'm her family why isn't she just spending her time with me??? I need more pictures of my beautiful self, not of humans opening toasters.

I get really upset when My Lady does not pay the proper amount of attention to me. It really upsets me very very much. I know how you feel.

These are really funny~!
I smile and smile, and I like #8, totally agree.
Right now, When michico or my Mommy go into the shower, I meow and meow very loudly, because I am so worry you know? They might be drowned by shower water you know?
My human is a big fan of Pamela's wheat free brownies!
I think that she needs to actually spend more time with you than talking to other humans about cats.
Beans are weird. If onwy they'd wisten to us, they'll find they start doing so much more sensible stuff!
Kaze sorry you feel sad about your mom slending toomuch time with 13 other things. Did you know that Benjamin Fuzz's mommy has the same problem with her diet?
Oh thank you so much for the nice visit and you conCATulations on my winning the pretty Rose Medallion. I am just thrilled about it! Like winning an Oscar really. Does my old kitty heart really good this time of year too.
Remember that you are loved by me...Miss Peach
Yes, humans can be pretty stupid. Especially this shower thing! Awful!
Kaze, your mom is a very busy girl, isn't she!! You forgot to list the time she uses to take the most AMAZING photographs of you - that's definitely time well spent!
Hi Kaze,
momma wanted us to tell you she knows some good blogs where they have gluten free recipes.
If your mom is interessted in them please just drop us a line at catboys AT paulchens.org
Purrrs, Kashim & Othello
Poor Kaze, I'm so sorry the Lap Lady is spending time doing all those other things, instead of cuddling and playing with you! I guess the German saddle she has didn't work out, since she ordered a new one from the UK? One of my mom's friends has celiac disease, but fortunately the local grocery store carries a lot of gluten- and wheat-free products, so she buys and eats a lot of those! I hope the Lap Lady can figure out the right foods for her without taking too much of her time!
Ah, a jumping saddle, that makes sense. :) I forgot that your mom does both dressage and jumping. My mom loves jumping but hasn't done it in a while - she got tired of falling off all the time and getting bruised. She'll probably get back to it someday, probably when she's finished her Masters.
The thing that keeps my Meowm away from me the most is that work thing. I REALLY wish beans didn't have to do this!
Fall is right around the corner, so you should get more time with her soon! Until then, if Mao won't snuggle with you, you are welcome to teleport over and we can snuggle.
Aw this was really cute! Makes me want a kitty!

We can definitely relate. I don't know why our moms can't just focus all their time and attention on us. With the exception of #10, I really don't see anything on the list that's more important than you, Kaze.
Love,
Tazo
OK, Kaze, the next thing you need to do is show this list to your human and ask what she plans to do to fix this situation. She needs to know there is a problem before she can fix it. However, since she loves you very much, she should agree to make an effort. And don't be afraid to follow up with her if necessary! Good luck!
Take it from us, not having dat work thing doesn't mean dey will spend more time with da cats. It just means dey can do housework all week and den spend da weekends running around wif dad! Stoopid beans...
Kaze, we understand. Our mom is home all day and night but it doesn't mean she's spending time with us. She doesn't have all the things going on the LL does though.
Midnite & Stray Kitty
Poor Kaze! But you could probably snuggle with her while she's doing 5, 11 and 12; playing might be a bit tricky though. My cats all had a fine way to get attention when I was reading: they would whap the book and if that failed, squeeze themselves in between me and the book. That one never failed:)
Oh Kaze, that is awful - really, fancy letting a little thing like Celiac disease stop her from spending time with you! Sack the staff!
p.s the human says she knows someone who suffers from Celiac disease and she sends her sincerest sympathy as it is awful and can be sooo debilitating!
I still think you should sack her, Kaze! No excuses!
Does your Lap Lady know that Gluten Free Girl http://glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com/ has a new book?
That is a very annoying list, Kaze, I agree. My momma went away this past weekend and I was alone in the 'partment. This was very cruel, I think.
Your buddy, Jimmy Joe
i could almost copy and paste those thirteen things and claim them for myself. (apart from the horse one). beans can be so selfish can;t they? x
Mum has been busy at work, outside, inside. She too has been standing in the hot rain room, then putting her nose in a book. I need more time too.
Must be something about Autumn.Everybean gets busy for a while then things settle down. I think beans can't manage time.
There are a lot of points on the list that I can totally relate too!
I usually just go napping or lizard hunting when the staff is busy with something else....
we think you need to help yer 'bean PRIORITIZE her time so she can spend more time with who's impawtent ~the Fluffy Tribe
