Books
Do your humans ever open those pesky things when you want to snuggle? They stare at the page, they sit up, they push you away when you sniff them. The Lap Lady is usually an insta-sleeper. Her head hits the pillow and she's gone. That leave me to invite myself under the covers later on in the night.
Last night I started to get myself into snuggle position when I noticed she was awake (which can be good, she'll pet me) and reading a book. I don't know why humans use the term "read" its really like staring a a birdie or squirrel but MUCH less interesting. This book smelled long and boring and I couldn't believe she'd choose to stare at it over me. Luckily I was able to kick it into purr overdrive and she can't read over that sound so she stopped. Then she pet me. Then I released a stink not of this earth and she was disgusted. But she deserved it for ignoring me and staring at that useless thing!!!

I don't like it to much when my Meowm reads either. She takes those books into the giant tub of water with her and reads them. I like to have her pay attention to me while she is in there.....the tub of water is very interesting to me and I want to share that with her. She does eventually give up, put the book down and pay attention to me.
Oh we kinda like it when Momma reads 'cause then she lets us sit on her and she pets us while she reads...
My mom reads a lot. Whenever I climb onto a book when she's in bed, she lifts up the covers, to let me burrow underneath. And when she's studying one of her big books, she let's me lie in her lap. She's such a nice mommy - she sits sideways at her desk, so I can get comfy on her lap.
I sits in Momma's lap so she can't read...she HASTAH pet me! Den't I grooms her. It E-quills out.

I kinda like it when the OTW reads, because she usually does it on the couch and makes a lap. But then I try to show my love for the book for making her make a lap by rubbing on it and biting it, and she gets annoyed.
Gizzy LOVES it when the Lady sits down with one of those. According to him it means Primo lap and petting time.
Oh! Is that what they're doin'? Readin'? I thought they was gettin' somefing out fur me to put the bitey on.
